Maleficent Movie

Disney is planning the movie Maleficent, a modern take on the tale of the Sleeping Beauty: instead of focusing on the Sleeping Beauty, the new film would focus on the the self-proclaimed "Mistress of All Evil", the evil queen Maleficent.

The movie Maleficent will likely put live action characters in a CGI setting (like Alice in Wonderland). Scriptwriter Linda Woolverton, who wrote the screenplay of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, has been tasked with penning the script of the upcoming Maleficent movie. And Tim Burton has been rumored as director, but he's a busy man, and there's nothing official yet...

I heard that Angelina Jolie could get the lead role, and she did express her interest in the project:

"I would love to [be involved in the movie Maleficent]. It's all new and being discussed, but I loved her when I was a little girl. She was my favorite. Tim Burton, the chance to work with him would be extraordinary."

I can definitely imagine Angelina Jolie as Maleficent. I really hope that the project will go ahead and that Angelina Jolie will get the lead role.
